GTM Engineer (Contractor)
We're looking for a GTM Engineer to be the technical backbone behind our clients' pipeline generation. You'll design, build, and optimise the AI-powered systems that turn go-to-market strategy into predictable, scalable outbound operations.
Your job is to connect data, tools, and people so every campaign runs like a well-built machine. You'll orchestrate data flows, integrate the right tools in the right sequence, and create workflows that allow businesses to scale their outreach intelligently.
We believe the most effective systems are built on human-AI collaboration. Humans strategise and design; AI handles scale, data processing, and repetitive tasks. You'll build human-in-the-loop systems that get the best out of both worlds—freeing up experts to focus on relationships, critical thinking, and value creation.
You'll report directly to the Founder and GTM Strategist, working shoulder-to-shoulder with him and having direct contact with clients. Beyond client projects, you'll also contribute to GTM7's own growth systems and internal process improvements.
Day-to-day, you'll be:
- Designing end-to-end outbound workflows using Clay, AI agents, and automation platforms
- Building and maintaining integrations between enrichment tools, sequencing platforms, and CRMs
- Improving personalisation engines and troubleshooting deliverability issues
- Testing new tools, messaging approaches, and workflow configurations
- Documenting solutions and creating playbooks for client enablement
- Collaborating with client teams to turn feedback into better systems
A snapshot of what this role involves and what you'll develop:
Essential
- Clay power user — You know Clay inside-out. You've built complex enrichment workflows, understand waterfall logic, and can troubleshoot when things break.
- Automation expertise — Proficient with n8n, Make, or similar platforms. You can connect APIs, handle webhooks, and build multi-step automations that run reliably.
- Outbound sequencing tools — Hands-on experience with Smartlead, HeyReach, Instantly, Lemlist, or equivalent platforms. You understand deliverability, warm-up, and inbox rotation.
- CRM & RevOps understanding — You know how CRMs are structured, how data flows between systems, and how sales teams actually use these tools.
- ICP & segmentation — You understand how to slice data for targeted outreach. You can translate business requirements into technical filters and enrichment logic.
- Independent execution — Once the scope is set, you run with it. You manage your time, flag blockers early, and deliver without constant oversight.
- Client communication — You're comfortable discussing technical solutions with non-technical stakeholders. You can explain what you're building and why it matters.
Nice to Have
- Experience crafting outbound messaging and email copy angles
- Understanding of ABM strategy and multi-channel campaign planning
- Familiarity with AI agents and LLM-powered automation
- Background in B2B demand generation or lead gen operations
- Basic scripting skills (Python, JavaScript) for custom integrations
- Engagement: Contractor basis, ongoing engagement. This is a core role, not a short-term project.
- Commitment: Full-time equivalent with flexible hours. We care about outcomes and deadlines, not clocking in and out. Attendance at key client meetings is required.
- Compensation: Monthly rate, invoiced on a self-employed/contractor basis. Rate reflects experience, expertise, and location—we pay fairly for the value you bring.
- Location: Fully remote, any timezone.
- Equipment: You'll need your own laptop. We provide access to the GTM stack: Clay, Smartlead, AI APIs, automation platforms, and collaboration tools.
